It has begun! Now cars are more like rocketscience :/ thats why until I earn 1m per year I wont buy this type of shit cars, when total failure of this ECO system occurs it costs like 1/10 of cars price to fix it…
Diesels used to be simple efficient and easy to work on, now with this adblue shit you got all these sensors, injectors, filters on the exhaust system it's ridiculous and none are cheap you couldn't give me a new Mercedez or Audi/VW diesel all junk!
This Adblu technology is a scam.. These systems are not new, they have been tested on buses and HGV's for years, Ive seen buses as old as 2002 with adblu fuel caps… Even guy martin, one of the countries top truck engineers, disagrees with the adblu systems because in order for it to work the engine has to use more diesel to produce a tiny drop in emissions, all it does is stop the black smoke.
A truck with adblu has to inject diesel 6-7 times on the compression stroke, then even after combustion on the down stroke its still injecting and wasting diesel… If your truck runs out of adblu the engine power drops massively
This is a stupid system implemented way to quickly to meet emission standards. Most modern producers of these systems have issues with them down the road.
What i find frustrating is that they use such a hard and corrosive substance to "clean" the remaining pollutants
AD Blue is used for a while on Big truks, is a very clean sistem, i have 5 MAN truks and all of them have this sistem installed. thsi is the future for clean engines, with the old tecknologie this euro 6 can not happened!

This system dos work, it's just VW didn't have this installed.

Isn't this supposed to solve the issue which is in the headlines for VW releasing too much NOx according to the EPA police?
And every one of those is a restriction in the exhaust, that takes MORE fuel to generate more pressure to overcome, so the car loses fuel efficiency. At some point you have negated any decrease in the INSTANTANEOUS emissions measurement by the increase in fuel consumption to achieve it.
I'll keep my old VW that gets 50mpg with the EGR disabled; no one can successfully argue to me that all the emissions junk is beneficial over the life of the car when it knocks the mileage down by 25% or more!
